The Sky Is Gray

"You trying to say these people don't believe in God?"
" I'm sure some of them do. Maybe most of them do. But they don't believe that God is going to touch these white people's hearts and change things tomorrow. Things change through action. By no other way."

The young man that said the quote is educated and he realizes that in order to improve his place in society and the way he lives he can"t just rely on faith. He belives that people have to take action and improve their current situation in order to have a better future. He was trying to make the people in the waiting room to see things in his perspective and he was very bold. However, for the time period he was living in, it was dangerous for him to walk outside the waiting room with those ideas because he could have been killed. It's hard to take action and to express your feelings when you don't have support because you could be torn apart easily.

i love the ending of this quote because it is so true, nothing in this world is going to change if you dont do something about it we should all take chances in life and yes so may be more dangerous than others but at least you can say i lived my life to the fullest and i tried to accompish everythig my heart desired. Living fearless like the boy is i believe the only way to live.

This quote is rich of meaning. I certainly believe that actions mean more than 1000 words for the fact that words are just that- words. whereas actions are movement and change. Also god can not do much from up there; down here is our job to take actions b/c god is too busy with global issues and we should not be lazy and leave everything in his/her hands.
